Thankful For You

Updated: Oct 28, 2021

You know who I am thankful for? You. No, we might not even know each other...but we have more in common than you may think. Remember that day when they announced that school would no longer be in person, but online? Remember that first zoom meeting for work, and what it felt like. Remember the fear that came upon you when shelves in the store were empty? Remember the first time you had to put a mask on you and your children? Remember the tears that were shed in secret? Remember the sleepless nights? Remember checking on your loved ones to make sure they were okay? Remember hearing the heart wrenching news that someone you loved was no longer here?

I am thankful for you, dear momma. I am thankful that you never gave up. I am thankful that in the most uncertain times, you were brave. I am thankful for the strength that you showed on your face although your heart trembled with fear. I am thankful for the laugh you let out, when you wanted to scream. I am thankful for the lullaby you sang. I am thankful for the flowers you picked. I am thankful for the prayers that you prayed. I am thankful for the kindness you showed when you saw a stranger in need.

I am thankful for the smile that I saw in your eyes when walking past you in the store. I am thankful for your love. I am thankful for the stories that you read. I am thankful for the new games you played. I am thankful for the sacrifices you made. No one will ever know the strength of your courageous heart, dear momma. I know you did it for them.

Yes, I am thankful for you.
